Outfit Highlight: Black, White and Gray All Over

IMG_7192rev1
I suppose I should have been wearing orange, blue or green, but really I was feeling kinda neutral yesterday. These are my go-to colors right here: black, white and gray. As I mentioned in a previous post here, my natural gravitation towards black could be a product of my growing up in NYC. If I didn’t intentionally turn away from these basic colors when I’m shopping, I would have a closetful of shades of gray, black and white. Besides, I can appreciate a pop of color, especially on these dreary winter days we’re having.

This winter white Trouve sweater is one of the most comfortable, cozy sweaters I own and I love the side zip detail. I’ve worn the Trouve tuxedo pants in a previous post here and I have to say that I’m so glad I found them. The fit is perfect, neither too tight nor saggy. The belted coat is an old J.Crew favorite of mine. Ah and the beanie hat, I love hats but I’ve shied away from them, mainly because I don’t have the facial shape that looks good in them. But I figure I’ll try anything once. Besides, just because I don’t have the perfect face for hats doesn’t mean I’m never gonna wear them in the same way that just because I don’t have the perfect body for a bathing suit doesn’t mean I’m not gonna wear them.

Today’s natural high: Watching a video, that my hubby recorded, of my 4-year-old performing “Let It Go” from Frozen with hand motions just like Elsa in the movie. I realize I’m a little biased but man, the girl deserves a ’10’ for performance. I’m not one to torture others with my kids’ pictures and videos (ok, I am), but this one I’ve got to share. It’s posted on my FB page here. Would appreciate it if you could ‘like’ my page while you’re there. 🙂

  3. Ohh, I love your outft. I was singing ‘do you want to build a snow man’ while I was reading this, so naturally when I saw that your 4 year old covered let it go, I had to go check it it out (and like your FB page too). She looks way to tiny to be able to know the words for a full song, what a clever kid =)

    • Thanks Corinne! I appreciate your FB ‘like’. My 4-year-old is obsessed with “Let It Go”. Believe me, anyone who watches the music video as often as she does would have to know the words.

  4. Visiting from the Random Wednesday Link-up! I love your monochromatic look, so cool! That sweater is the perfect length for wearing with leggings.
