Outfit Highlight: Pretty in Floral

Pretty in Floral
I have to admit, a pretty floral fit and flare is not my first choice when it comes to dresses. I’m more of a simple understated LBD kind of girl. It’s puzzling because I love the way these kinds of dresses look on other people, just not something I typically see myself wearing. But when I saw this dress on Piperlime, I just felt the urge to buy it. I don’t know if it was the bold colors, the pretty floral print or the fact that it was on sale. It was probably a combination of the three, plus the fact that I was mesmerized by how good it looked on the model. Well, I’m glad I decided to keep it. I think the clincher was the fact that it has pockets. Pockets on dresses are the best! I did have to take it in a bit under the arms, but otherwise it fit perfectly. It’s impossible not to feel pretty in a fit and flare floral dress.

  1. First off, I think this is a great outfit. But I had to laugh when reading this post. I think I could have written it verbatim. I don’t really wear fit and flare dresses though they do look great on others. including you here. The three reasons you bought it probably would have won me over as well. And I LOVE pockets! Great share that I just added to my Pinterest Board.

If you’re interested, I host a weekly Fashionably Employed Link Up where we share inspiration for great outfits to wear in a professional setting. I think this outfit would be a great contribution if you’re interested in joining. The link up goes live each Monday morning (so it just went up today) and I highlight my favorite look from the week in the following week’s link up.

Hope you’re interested – great look!

  2. Such a cute dress on you! I have just recently started broadening my horizons and trying fit and flare, as well as more colorful clothing. I must say I am enjoying stepping outside my comfort zone more than I thought I would. This shape and color looks very pretty on you!

  3. That dress is darling! I love the shape on you, but it’s the colours that are the best bit, they’re gorgeous! I know what you mean about favouring certain styles, but this really does look great on you. Lovely. Visiting today via Funday Monday x

  4. I’m really glad you decided to keep it – it’s darling on you, and I totally agree that dresses with pockets is the best thing ever. Definitely a plus in my book!

  5. That dress is gorgeous and it looks so fresh paired with the white and the red. A little American Patriotism, a lot Girly. You look beautiful, Cynthia. =)

  6. I love that you paired your sweet dress with red heels! Great choice. Thanks for linking up with us at the Be.You.Tiful Link Party!
