Outfit Highlight: Closet Revival 2

IMG_1865rev1
Between driving my girls to and from different camps and after-camp activities, my husband being away for a week on medical missions, and having lots on my mind lately, I haven’t had much time for anything else, one of them being shopping. I guess it’s a good thing in a way. I’ve been reading a lot of posts from fellow bloggers about shopping their closet instead of continuously buying new items. I took their cue and I’ve been shopping my closet lately. And I thought it was the perfect time for another edition of “Closet Revival,” which I first published here.

Both the blouse and skirt in this outfit go way back, I’m talking waaaay back. After all these years, they still remain two of my favorite pieces to date. They’re oldies but goodies. OMG, as I’m writing this post and paying closer attention, I realized that I’m wearing Banana Republic from head to toe with the exception of the bag. This was not intentional! Oh well, what can I say, it’s a good combination. I especially love the skirt which I tied into a side bow. I love how this simple twist dresses up the whole look. The heels were actually a more recent purchase. I thought I’d add a little pop of color to the neutral palette.

  1. What a gorgeous white pencil skirt, Cynthia. That bow sash is awesome. The shoes are beautiful too. Python looks so fresh with White.

    Happy Monday Dear!!

  2. Very pretty and I loovvvveee your heels. I’ve been missing out on my dressy clothes all summer so I’m excited to shop my closet this fall. Every year around this time (and in spring) I scramble to wear all my favorite things before the seasons change and I’m out of luck until next year.

  3. Great post, Cynthia! A wonderful reminder to shop our closets.
Love your look! Classic with your shoes adding the perfect twist.

  4. This is a gorgeous outfit Cynthia! I have been trying to shop my closet lately too. My recent post is all remixes. Banana Republic has the best classic and timeless pieces. Hope you get some downtime this weekend.

    • Thanks, Clare! I don’t typically notice where the pieces are from but I did for this outfit as I was doing the links. Hey, as long as it works, it really doesn’t matter where they’re from.

  5. I love EVERY piece in this look! The skirt, the shoes, the top – all are perfect together or as separates. Thanks for linking up with MWM! xo

  6. I don’t think you can ever go wrong with too much Banana Republic 🙂 I love those shoes! They add just the perfect pop to a more neutral outfit

  7. Hi! beautiful outfit, I love how you added a splash of color with those good looking shoes. The bow on the skirt is such a great idea , I think I am going to start shopping my own closet now!

  8. So glad you’ve never given up on these pieces because they are perfect! The bow on the skirt is darling! And you will see tomorrow, that I am singly-branded, also by coincidence!

  9. Hi Cynthia you look fabulous! Those heels are so cute and they match perfectly with your top. I also like that skirt, the bow definitely draws interest. Thanks for continuing to link up to the #WhatWivesWearLinkUp. ~Sherri
