As summer weather is slowly making its exit (sob!), it felt appropriate to do a recap of sorts. But instead of doing a recap of just my outfits, I wanted to focus on the colors and color pairings that I enjoyed wearing this past summer and have been inspired by from other great bloggers. Some are classics that will always be at the top of my list and others are newfound loves that I plan to incorporate into my wardrobe more regularly in the near future. I’ve sneaked in a couple of spring outfits as well because I loved them so much.
Black & White
Black and white will always be at the top of my list for every season. It’s a classic that never gets old. I find myself going back to this color pairing time and time again. Love the way these ladies rocked their B&W outfits. The black details in Shanna’s outfit completes the look with her beautiful white lace dress as the focus. Dawn is looking so chic and elegant for her special event and that signature pose of hers just elevates the whole look. Lauren’s look is impeccable, feminine and edgy at the same time.
Chambray & Red
Chambray and red or blue and red has always been one of my favorite color combinations and I was glad to see it on a lot of bloggers this past summer. Alison always looks stylish and comfortable at the same time. I love how she tied her chambray shirt in the front here for a perfect 4th of July look. I love how Ginny put three different summer staples together (stripes, chambray and shorts) for a perfectly polished look. Lisa has a way of combining prints, colors and patterns and making them look good. I love the chambray against the red and white stripes of the skirt.
Cobalt
Cobalt blue has caught my eye all summer long. Lucky for me, I found my Zara cobalt top in the back of my closet just in time. Amy Ann looks radiant in her cobalt dress and those pops of neon are the perfect finishing touch. I love that Nicole used cobalt as accents to this gorgeous pink dress. The cobalt definitely elevates the whole look. Darcy’s outfit is the perfect transition from spring to summer with the classic Portofino blouse and cute striped shorts.
Mint
I’ve been crushing on mint since spring. I even did a post about it here. For someone who loves mint, I have a negligible collection of mint items in my closet and I’ve only been able to feature a couple of mint accessories so far. I guess it’s one of those colors that I love to see on others more than on myself. I love the different ways I saw mint this past summer and spring. Adrienne looks stylish and chic as always in her mint top paired with a gorgeous statement necklace and amazing Valentino-esque heels. I’m always impressed by Lindsay’s color combos and accessories. This one with the mint jeans is no exception. The fact that she can do it at bargain prices is even more impressive. I just got to know Miriam and her blog recently and this sequin number with the mint cardigan and shorts got me hooked. Rachel has the best color palettes for her outfits. Love this pastel ensemble with mint as the centerpiece.
Stripes & Brights
There is certainly no shortage of this pairing in the blogosphere. Everywhere I look, there is a bright colored top or bottom being paired with black and white stripes. I think we all agree that this is a match made in heaven. And it’s great for all seasons. Oddly enough, this is a pairing I’ve yet to feature, but that will soon change, trust me. Gina has paired these striped shorts with various bright tops and I’ve loved every single one of them. I also can’t take my eyes off of those super fit lean legs of hers! Rebecca is looking vibrant as always in her bright yellow top with the popular striped shorts. Carylee is a triple threat with this outfit. She’s got stripes, brights AND pops of mint. What more could you ask for? Gina looks so pretty in her bright colored midi skirt and the black and white top along with the black accessories are the perfect complements.
There you have it. Can’t wait to see all the different color palettes for fall!

All of those looks are so cute! I love how different women can take the same basic idea or trend and make it all their own. Yesterday I actually wore my very first “Pinspired” outfit, but it will be awhile before I have time to blog about it. Considering how busy I was yesterday, I’m just glad I found time to snap a few photos! Definitely pinning a few collages for the future. Thanks!
Great post! Love the outfits and colors!
