Outfit Highlight: Autumnal

IMG_4150rev1

Happy Monday, everyone!

The crisp autumn weather yesterday was perfect for picture taking and the perfect complement to my outfit that includes all of my favorite things about fall: fall colors, layering and plaid scarves. I’ve been wanting a camel blazer for a while and I was thrilled to snag this one from J.Crew when they were having a special sale. The fit and length of the Regent blazer are exactly what I’ve been looking for. The standing collar, which I wasn’t able to show in these pictures, gives it a clean and sharp look that I love in a blazer. I also love this scarf from Target especially because the price is right and it’s super soft and cozy. I had actually brought a peacoat along for extra layering because it is cold enough to wear it but decided to leave it out for this photo shoot.

I wish the weather had been like this on Halloween day this past Friday. It was cold, windy and rainy, the worst possible combination for trick or treating. My youngest braved thru two houses and gave up. I was actually kind of glad she wanted to go back inside and, of course, I was the first one to volunteer to take her back. I don’t know, I think maybe we should move Halloween to August or something, what do you think?

  1. I love this combo! We only stayed out for about a half hour on Halloween, and that was definitely enough time for Grant to get more candy than he needed. It was a cold one too!

  2. I want that plaid scarf and your chic camel blazer. You look perfect for a breezy Fall day.

P.S. Loved your feature at Rhea Lately. Well Deserved.

    Happy November, Cynthia!

  3. Ooh. I like that blazer. The whole outfit is perfection! Everything works together so well. I’m so glad we had our town’s trick or treating the Sunday before Halloween. The weather was gorgeous.

  4. Love this look, Cynthia!! Especially those jeans. Love the color and the texture of them. & I loved the blazer the moment I saw it, so I should have known it was J.Crew! Half my wardrobe, retail/thrifted, is J.Crew hahah & you bought that blanket scarf at Target?? When???

  6. Haha, Halloween in August is actually a really good idea! It’s miserable walking around in the cold. Also, that blazer seems so nice. I don’t have a camel blazer but I have had one on my wishlist for a while. I love it with the jeans and scarf!

  7. Hello Cynthia! What a beautiful outfit you have created! I really love the camel blazer, not only looks great but I can also see you creating wonderful looks with it. Very versatile and practical. I really liked how you mixed different patterns, textures and colors. It all blends in so beautifully. You look great as always. Because I am from Florida, I get to enjoy decent weather on Halloween day. Hopefully next year you will get to enjoy a better one. Take care! xoxo, Jeannette

  8. I agree, Halloween should be in the summer! I always feel bad for the kids that are so excited about their costumes but have to wear their winter coat over it. I love this layered look! That blazer is the perfect color and it fits you perfectly!

  9. I’ve seen this scarf around blogland! It’s such a hit! My target has sold out so I may have to try to find it online… you know, since all the cool kids are wearing it! 🙂 You are rocking this outfit! Love the fun shoes too! Thanks for joining me for the Celebrate Southern linkup again! I’m pinning this terrific look to our pinboard! 🙂

  10. I want EVERY single piece in this outfit!! I also love all of the colors you through in with the neutral/camel colored blazer. And, that scarf is from Target?! Love it! The color of your skinnies looks great with the outfit, too… and, I also want your sunnies!
