Can you believe there are only ten days left until Christmas?! Panic has officially set in. I still have shopping left to do, gifts to wrap, parties to prepare for…aaargh! What I really need to do is step back and focus on the real meaning of Christmas, being thankful for all of my blessings and thinking of ways to bless others.
My plan was to wear this outfit ‘as is’ to my husband’s work Christmas party. At the very last minute, I swapped the booties with pointed toe heels and the leather jacket with a structured blazer. My husband’s industry is a little more conservative so my second choice felt more appropriate. But that doesn’t mean I can’t wear this outfit to other parties.
This Betsey Johnson dress is super comfy because of its stretchy material. It was surprisingly roomy so I actually had to have it taken in since it didn’t come in a smaller size. And since I fell in love with the floral print the minute I saw it and I bought it on sale, there was no way I was going to return it. The Express (minus the) leather moto jacket was one of the items I acquired during their Black Friday promotion. I initially purchased the camel colored one but decided to exchange it for the navy one. I’m very happy with my decision.
How are you doing with your Christmas preparations? Are you a last minute shopper like me? Or are you putting the last bow on the last gift you just finished wrapping and are about to sit back, put your feet up and enjoy a cup of coffee?

Beautiful look! That moto jacket is amazing. Great holiday party outfit idea. I’m in a panic this week too, but it’s more about cleaning the house before the 28 guests from my husbands side of the family arrive for Christmas at our house this year:) AHHH!
Have a great week!

Oh my goodness, good luck hosting! I think you’ll need a vacation after this.
Your floral sheath and moto jacket are gorgeous, and together look perfect. You are ready for a Fancy XMas party in this. As a matter of fact I own a very similar navy leather jacket so thanks for the inspiration.
I am co-hosting a special link-up today Cynthia. It will stay open until Thursday. Would love for you to join me. Thanks. =)
Ah!! So excited that you picked up a MTL jacket during the sale! Black is so classic and by far my most used color. And I love seeing how you styled it with a dress considering that’s probably the one way I never wear it. LOL 🙂 This whole outfit looks amazing!

Love this look! Your outfits are always so well executed and you look fab! That clutch is PERFECT with this look!
My husband is Jewish so I cannot be lazy when it comes to his families gifts since Hanukkah comes earlier than Christmas, but of course, I am not finished yet either! I keep telling myself “Slow and steady wins the race.”
Thanks for sharing!

We are done with shopping, which is great, but aren’t at all ready for guests. Love this dress, it’s gorgeous on you!
I’m such a fan of wearing florals in winter – and you got it all right here Cynthia!!! Wishing you the best of the holidays too!!!

Cha Cha The Fashion Genius
Love the dress! It fits you to perfection. Those booties are fabulous. I love the edge the leather jacket and booties add. I imagine it was equally as stunning in a more polished way with the heels and blazer. It’s amazing how changing up just a few things changes the vibe of an outfit. We are done Christmas shopping and mostly done wrapping, but still have events like crazy. I was feeling stressed as well and felt like I was missing the whole reason I love Christmas. I’ve been reading a daily advent devotional a friend gave me and it’s helped a lot. It’s crazy how busy this time of year gets!

Thanks, Amy Ann! And thanks for reminding me about the advent devotional I received from my church. I have a lot of catching up to do!
First off, this dress made me realize you have such a rockin’ bod for a mama of three! How did you do it?? Just amazingly good genes?
Second, I love how you styled your outfit here (and to your husband’s office party!)
I am actually in between. I have a lot of my handmade gifts done, but the gifts I need to buy have not been bought yet! I guess I love crafts so much, that the handmade gifts are just so much easier for me. I just need to wrap them now 🙂 I’m actually doing a blogger secret santa which is a lot of fun for me. Are you trading gifts with Ashley? 😀
Yvonne
Dear Sunny
You are too sweet! Unless you have good genes (which I don’t), you have to work a lot harder to stay fit as you get older, which for me means kickboxing 2-3 times a week just to maintain my current fitness level. I can’t believe you handmake your gifts! That is a talent I don’t have. Your family/friends are very lucky. I don’t think neither Ashley nor I need to add anymore to our gift list. It’s been a crazy past couple of weeks!
Congrats! I love this outfit on you, I would wear this dress ad well. I love florals, so pretty. It looks great how you styled it with the boots too!

I have the MTL jacket in cognac, just ordered it in black, and now I need it in navy. It looks so good with the dress.
Love this look! Brightens up typically darker colors for winter with a touch of spring.
Thanks, girl.
That dress is gorgeous and you look stunning in it. What a great party look?

Dear Cynthia, The minute I saw the picture you posted on IG this morning I was in total love with the look. I really love the flowered dress paired with the awesome booties and the moto jacket. You look soooooooo chic and elegant at the same time. I must say one of my favorites so far and don’t get me wrong, I love everything you wear but there is something about this one that captivated me. I think it is the combination of the midi length of the dress, the flowers and the booties. Yes! I guess that is it! You look beautiful Cynthia and thanks for sharing:-) I am not done yet with shopping, taking it more easy this year (last year I panicked too much!) XOXO, Jeannette

Thank you Jeannette! You made my day with all your kinds words.
I think this is the first time I am seeing the navy version on someone, and I gotta say – I absolutely love it! I know what you mean about having to tone it down for a more conservative group. I love that your style can be as edgy as you want it to be and you still look flawless regardless! And that dress! Carylee | more pieces of me
Thanks, Carylee!
