Outfit Highlight: Ready for Old Man Winter

IMG_5949rev1
Winter took us by surprise last year. It came unannounced in full force and more than overstayed its welcome. I sure wasn’t prepared for it and by end of February I felt like I was slowly losing my willpower to “brave” the winter. This year is going to be different. I’ve got my winter armor on and ready to meet it head on. Bring it on Old Man Winter! Show me what you got.

This packable puffer jacket is not only going to keep me warm during the Michigan winter months but it will come in really handy when we head down to Orlando next month. In the past, I would just try to layer as much as possible so that I wouldn’t have to bring along a bulky winter coat to a warmer climate vacation destination. Now I have my packable jacket that will keep me warm on the way to the airport and pack into a compact pouch once we’re in Florida. I love the burgundy with the gold hardware. My stripe top and cardigan along with the moto leggings have been on repeat for a while now. I have that stripe top in two other colors. And Hunter wellies are a must in any sort of inclement weather.

  1. Love your layers and colors! Burgundy and black is such a great combo. I have a short puffer that is my go to for casual chilly days here. I think I need some Hunters. 😉

  2. I am in love with your quilted coat especially since burgundy is one of my most favorite colors. Love that you paired it with burgundy on top, also. Those gloves and your leggings are gorgeous, also. Such a great Winter look for cold Michigan,. Cynthia. =)

  3. Hello Cynthia! Love your puffer jacket very much. The burgundy color together with its style makes it a must have for the winter. Love the way you styled it and those leggings are super cute. The hunter boots looks amazing and I wished I had purchased a pair for myself too when I bought the pair for my daughter this Christmas season. Have fun during your visit to Florida and if your need anything let me know! I live in Orlando so I will happy to do anything I can:-) Have a blessed week! XOXO, Jeannette

  4. I was the same way last winter. By the end of the season I finally ordered a pair of hunter boots, after ruining my leather ones. Now, I’ve been wearing my hunters at least a few times a week as it’s been so wet and cold here!

    Hope you stay warm 🙂

  5. You look super chic for Michigan winter! Love your coat! We were just up there over Christmas! The writer of the Mom Edit blog is from Michigan and has a sister who contributes and also lives there, and they say cute parkas are the way to go up there! Love yours’!

  6. Yes to this entire look!! Another style I plan to pin in just a sec. This jacket is genius…packable in a pouch? Sign me up!! I love the color palette here too…simple, stylish & winter ready. Adorable!

  7. It can be such a challenge to find a puffer jacket that does not make you look like the michelin man, and this one is adorable on you! Love how you styled it too. I wish I could say I were ready to brave the winter, but mostly I just whimper.
