Outfit Highlight: The Oversized Cardigan

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

I must have a case of the winter blues because it’s been extra hard to get motivated to do just about anything lately. I feel like my body is using up all the energy to keep itself warm so it has no energy left for anything else. Thankfully, it warmed up a bit over the weekend, and by “warmed up” I mean temperatures in the 30s instead of in the single digits.

Lately, I naturally find myself reaching for clothes that are cozy, comfy and most importantly, warm. I found this oversized cardigan just waiting for me on one of my “returns” trip to the mall. Speaking of which, am I the only one that is always returning things? I’m perpetually returning to the mall to return things. Sometimes I feel so bad, I buy an item from a particular store in one mall and return it to that store at a different mall. I’m convinced everyone knows me at the store as the lady that returns things all the time.

Anyway, someone must have returned this Rachel Roy hooded plaid cardigan because it was just hanging there behind the counter staring me in the face and calling my name. It was not only the right size but there was also a special sale going on at Macy’s that day. It was just meant to be (just like everything else in my closet). This cardigan is so cozy and warm I was able to wear it alone without a coat over the weekend. I love the monochromatic plaid pattern along with the hood, both of which add dimension and interest.

  7. I love that hooded plaid cardigan! It looks perfect for wrapping yourself up to fight the cold outside. I’m such a sissy about the cold so I practically live in cardigans until summer comes back around. lol

  22. Hello Cynthia! I am so glad you took that beautiful cardigan home with you. I actually love it and want it! I can see you wearing in many different ways especially during spring time. I really like the way you styled it. Well done! And don’t worry about returning things… we all do! I don’t like trying on clothes when I am shop, for some reason it gets me out of the shopping mood. My hair gets messed up, etc., etc.

  31. Love the cardi, can it get any cozier!! I was spoiled with some semi warmer weather the past few days that really brightened my mood, but I was feeling the same winter funk prior to that. Hope you get a little sun and warmth soon!

  38. Beautiful cardigan indeed. I also like your boots. And no, I am usually not returning a lot of stuff, but I always ask whether I could possibly return it 😉 So at the stores they know me as “the lady that always asks whether she can change her mind”.

  43. I love how different this cardigan is! It’s an all inclusive piece of clothing like an all inclusive vacation! Haha, ok, that might be a stretch.

    & I do the same. I buy a ton of things online when I see a sale, and then end up going to the store to return things. I feel terrible, and always end up explaining myself, even though I’m sure they don’t care haha I’m just the crazy lady that rambles.
