Outfit Highlight: A Dress from Play Date to Date Night

Rhea Et Cetera, Addison Boarding School dress, blue dress, tunic, spring layers, layered necklaces, play date look, date night look, collared dress, BCBGeneration studded heels, Converse Chuck Taylors, Gap denim jacket, BCBG structured jacket

Happy Monday, my friends!

This is a very special post. I’m so excited to announce the launch of a new boutique by RheaEtCetera.com! Yes, you read it right. You can now visit RheaEtCetera.com to shop for the latest and greatest in skirts and dresses. I have always admired people who pursue their dreams and actually make it happen. So when my friend Rhea asked me to participate in her boutique launch, I was not only ecstatic for her but I was honored to be a part of it. Read more about her journey here.

It was hard to pick out a single item that I wanted to feature because there were so many cute skirts and dresses to choose from but when I saw this Addison Boarding School dress, I knew right away that it was versatile enough that I could wear it for more than one season and more than one occasion.

I can totally see myself going to a play date wearing this dress by itself with my Converse slip-ons on a sunny spring/summer day (If such a day ever makes an appearance here in Michigan!). But I can also see myself swapping the slip-ons with a pair of heels and adding a jacket and accessories for a date night look. Being that the temperatures are still in the 40s here in Michigan, I opted to wear it as a tunic with capri leggings, which I felt worked out just fine. As a mom-on-the-go, I always look for versatile pieces that can be worn in multiple ways and this dress definitely fits the bill.

From play date…

  1. I love how you took this tunic and work it into two very different fantastic looks. I am all about remixing my closet and wearing pieces from day to night, from work to a date or from playing with Vivian/running errands to a Girls Night. For more check out my post, a little later on today.

    Have a great Monday, Cynthia!

  2. You do such a great job of transitioning pieces! I love this dress alone, but with your leggings and styled both ways shows such versatility. I am so excited for this launch!

  3. I think this dress is just adorable! I am admiring both ways you have styled it and love that you went the tunic route. Your layered necklaces are perfect!

  4. This is such a cute dress and I really like the two ways you’ve styled it! The blue and black color combo is fantastic on you!

  5. Hello Cynthia! Skirts and dresses have always been my favorite pieces to wear so when I read above that Rhea Et Cetera’s online store specializes on those two my heart jumped out of excitement. Like you, I love learning about people that not only follow their dreams but also make them a reality. Congratulations and my best wishes to Rhea! I have no doubt she will reach the stars. I love the school girl dress you chose to wear. It fits you perfect and I love its color and design very much. And the fact that you styled it two ways makes me like it even more. Well done Cynthia! Have a wonderful week my friend. XOXO, Jeannette
