Outfit Highlight: Love My Olive

Nordstrom, Lush, olive tunic, Kate Spade olive bag, Madewell chevron necklace, cream fur vest, Express leggings, Zara booties, earth tones, fall colors, fall fashion, casual

Happy Monday, my friends!

I’ve been fighting a bad cold all week and it’s been exhausting. The fact that temperatures just decided to drop about 15 degrees did not help. I’m just thankful I had enough of my energy back to take these pictures. But I’m keeping this one short because I still have some resting to do.

I had planned to wear this olive tunic with just the leggings and a pair of strappy heels but it was a bit too chilly for my taste so at the last minute I decided to add the fur vest and booties. I mentioned in my last Weekend Wish List post that I’m loving olive this season and I think this outfit is a perfect example. I have a feeling this Lush olive tunic and the Zara booties are fast becoming my go-to items for this season. Continue reading

JORD watch, wood watches, earth tones, fall colors, fall fashion, Madewell embroidered dress, tan booties, Forever 21 cardigan, Panama hat, boho chic, transitional style

Happy Monday, my friends!

Last week I talked about jewel tones being one of my favorite hues for fall. This week I’m talking about another one of my favorite color palettes, earth tones and neutrals. There is something calming, grounding and timeless about these hues. They are appropriate for any season but they seem especially well suited for fall. Earth tones remind us of the intrinsic beauty of nature and what it offers not only thru colors, but also thru textures, patterns, etc. Continue reading

Happy Monday, my friends!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, my favorite part of fall are the colors it brings. The Michigan autumn foliage is beautiful and fall fashion colors are a feast for the eyes as well. The jewel tones of this blouse and clutch are examples of my favorite hues for fall. And thanks to FABRIZIO GIANNI®, I get to wear them early in the season. Happy Monday, everyone!

As I was looking through my summer fashion posts, I realized that it’s been a while since I’ve gotten dressed up to go anywhere. I was getting too comfortable in my summer t-shirt and shorts combos. So I decided to dress it up a bit for this post. Why not, right? For one, it’s always a good excuse to make a date night. If you’re all dressed up, you might as well go somewhere. Secondly, I kind of miss looking polished every day and having somewhat intelligent adult conversation. Now that all my girls are in school full time, could I possibly consider going back to work? Not impossible. And last but not least, this past weekend marked this little blog’s 2-year anniversary. So I guess it’s good reason to dress up and celebrate!

Outfit Highlight: Slow Transition

summer dress, denim jacket, blue booties, summer, transition to fall, Kendra Scott tassel pendant necklace, red, turquoise

Happy Labor Day!

Hope you’re all enjoying a relaxed day off with your family and friends. I am definitely planning to do just that before the craziness of the first day of school tomorrow.

I was actually planning to feature a more fall appropriate outfit today but we were in the high 80s all weekend and I just couldn’t bear the thought of adding more layers on a hot sunny day. Besides, this is probably my last chance to wear a cute summer dress. This BCBGeneration dress was one of those dresses that I wore a couple of times and then forgot about it. It’s always nice to re-discover an item that’s been hiding in your closet. I did opt for a more fall-like pair of shoes, my favorite blue booties. My transition to fall has been very slow but I’m in no hurry. Continue reading

Happy Monday, my friends!

I know summer is over when my girls and I start gearing up for school. A new school season means new school supplies, new school gear, new clothes and of course, new shoes! They grow out of their kicks before I can say Jack Robinson. And that’s why I’m so glad to be partnering up with SKECHERS once again to gear up for school in style. SKECHERS is a household name for us so it’s a natural fit. My girls love to pick out a new pair of SKECHERS at the start of every school year and this year is no exception. Continue reading

Frenchi embroidered swing top, Gap scallop hem shorts, chambray shorts, Aldo Direven flats, pointed toe flats, boho chic, summer fashion

Happy Monday, my friends!

I know a lot of us are ready for fall, especially fall fashion, but I have to say that I’m not in that camp yet. I’m holding on to summer for as long as I can. I’m not ready to let go of the carefree days of shorts, tees and flip flops! Knowing that we’ll have more than our fair share of cooler temperatures here in Michigan, I’m enjoying the warm days of summer down to the very last day. Continue reading
