Slip-ons…oh how I’ve missed you! We finally reached temperatures in the 40s over the weekend. I kid you not, there are people going around in shorts as if we’re having beach weather. It’s not quite warm enough to be wearing shorts for me but I did not hesitate to break out my Vans slip-ons. I just couldn’t wait to wear them again.
This is the thing, we’re less than two weeks away from spring but it sure doesn’t look like spring is just around the corner in these parts. My mind, however, has already bid farewell to winter, so I’m trying to forego the heavy winter coat the minute I get the chance. But how do you stay warm in 40 degree weather without a winter coat? Say hello to layering. Continue reading →
I’ve been obsessed with grid prints and windowpane prints for a couple of years now. Every time I see an outfit with a grid print piece or see a post about grid/windowpane prints, I automatically zero in my attention. I’ve already featured two windowpane print tops on the blog (as shown below) but I had been wanting a grid/windowpane print bottom for a while. So when I found a grid print skirt during Zara’s end of season sale earlier this year, it seemed like a no-brainer. Of course, I had to get it. Continue reading →
Do you know what’s harder than coming back from a vacation? Coming back to bitter cold temperatures. Talk about a jolt back to reality! But again, the weather is playing nice and decided to warm up a bit over the weekend, and hence the outdoor photos of me seemingly enjoying the balmy weather.
I don’t know if the mounds of untouched white snow in my backyard was the source of inspiration but, for whatever reason, I was really in the mood for white jeans. Continue reading →
As a mom of three girls, my hope is for my daughters to grow up to be kind, respectful and compassionate young women. At the same time, I wish for them to be confident, bold and fearless when it comes to pursuing their dreams. As we conclude our family vacation here in Disney World, I am reminded of what Walt Disney once said, “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” I want my daughters to grow up believing they can achieve anything they set their minds to. I want to instill in them the belief that hard work pays off and that determination opens doors. And that if they’re truly passionate about something, they need to go out there and make it happen.
And that’s why I’m so excited to be collaborating with Cinder + Salt to introduce you to their newest collection, which embodies this go-getter attitude. Their #LIKEABOSS collection was inspired by all the female go-getters out there who are empowered to pursue excellence while at the same time striving to find balance between career and personal goals. Having a sick kid right before a family vacation is a little disconcerting but, thankfully, it looks like she’s on the mend and ready for our trip to Disney World. In between getting Valentine’s Day treats ready for school and packing, I had a chance to sneak out for a photo shoot and amazingly, the weather has been my best friend lately, warming up for me on the weekends.
Despite the fact that I have all the winter jackets and coats that I need, I’ve been wanting a cocoon coat for a while. Perhaps it’s the oversized slouchy fit, but there’s something about cocoon coats that exudes a cool, laid back vibe without being sloppy. And because they’re oversized, it’s great for layering. Hope everyone had a fun Super Bowl weekend! We had consistent snow fall all day long yesterday with 8-10 inches of accumulation. Needless to say, we had a small turnout for the Super Bowl party at our house but the game more than compensated for the small number. And if you enjoy a good game, don’t forget to scroll down to the bottom of this post. I’ve got a little treat for you.
I did some shopping in my closet this past weekend and came up with this fur and flare number. I was on a mission to find fall season items that hadn’t been worn in a while, and that I could possibly transition into winter. You’ve seen this fur vest before here and the flare skirt I wore back in September here. I love pieces that I can wear for multiple seasons. Continue reading →
The weather is being nice and cooperative these days. Weekend temperatures have been a little more mild, which works for me because I do my photo shoots over the weekend.
Initially, I envisioned wearing an all-gray outfit because I’m a big fan of monochromatic looks and they typically work beautifully. For whatever reason, for this particular outfit, I just felt like something was missing. So I decided to add little pops of color via the accessories. Continue reading →
I must have a case of the winter blues because it’s been extra hard to get motivated to do just about anything lately. I feel like my body is using up all the energy to keep itself warm so it has no energy left for anything else. Thankfully, it warmed up a bit over the weekend, and by “warmed up” I mean temperatures in the 30s instead of in the single digits.
Lately, I naturally find myself reaching for clothes that are cozy, comfy and most importantly, warm. I found this oversized cardigan just waiting for me on one of my “returns” trip to the mall. Speaking of which, am I the only one that is always returning things?Continue reading →
