Can you believe there are only ten days left until Christmas?! Panic has officially set in. I still have shopping left to do, gifts to wrap, parties to prepare for…aaargh! What I really need to do is step back and focus on the real meaning of Christmas, being thankful for all of my blessings and thinking of ways to bless others.
My plan was to wear this outfit ‘as is’ to my husband’s work Christmas party. At the very last minute, I swapped the booties with pointed toe heels and the leather jacket with a structured blazer. My husband’s industry is a little more conservative so my second choice felt more appropriate. But that doesn’t mean I can’t wear this outfit to other parties. Continue reading →
This past week was one of those weeks I wished we had more hours in a day and more days in a week. Between school events, planning for my youngest one’s birthday party, trying to do some Christmas shopping and working on some house maintenance, there really wasn’t much time for anything else. I really just want to hibernate. I envy the bears.
Anyway, enough about me! Today it’s all about those tan boots I mentioned I was hunting for here. I finally found the ones! Continue reading →

I bought these Anthropologie slouchy cargo pants a couple of months ago but never got a chance to wear them. I figured it would be now or never because the temperatures are dropping quickly, they’re predicting highs in the low 30s next week. Continue reading →
The crisp autumn weather yesterday was perfect for picture taking and the perfect complement to my outfit that includes all of my favorite things about fall: fall colors, layering and plaid scarves. I’ve been wanting a camel blazer for a while and I was thrilled to snag this one from J.Crew when they were having a special sale. The fit and length of the Regent blazer are exactly what I’ve been looking for. The standing collar, which I wasn’t able to show in these pictures, gives it a clean and sharp look that I love in a blazer. Continue reading →
Halloween is one of my kids’ favorite holidays, for obvious reasons. So when I was offered the opportunity to experience Hallowe’en in Greenfield Village this past weekend, I knew it would be a fun family event we wouldn’t want to miss. It runs for three weekends in October and we were able to make it to the last weekend of the event. Continue reading →
