My girls’ last day of school is tomorrow, which means no more rushed mornings, at least for a while. It also means less alone time for me, which may prove to be a challenge when it comes to blogging. I can’t wait for summer camp to start!
I consider today’s look to be the quintessential fashion blogger’s look. How many times have you seen this combination of a chambray top with a black and white striped skirt and a pop of color via the accessories? But I can totally see why it’s so popular. This ensemble just works. It has all the right ingredients for a great outfit. It’s become a classic iconic look. Continue reading →
Are weekends ever not busy? Mine was busy as usual but thankfully it was mostly fun. The best part was the beautiful sunny weather we had until it was abruptly interrupted by a major thunderstorm, a dramatic finale to a beautiful weekend.
The important thing is that I got to squeeze in this photo shoot because I couldn’t wait for you to see this beautiful bag that was sent to me by Jordana Paige. As soon as I set my eyes on this Cora bag, I fell in love with the serenely understated shade of lavender. I also immediately thought of the perfect summer dress to wear with it. Continue reading →
After a couple of days of torrential rain, temperatures cooled down quite a bit over the weekend. I thought it was the perfect time to wear this soft and cozy short-sleeve knit top that I’ve been dying to wear. Although I have to admit I could have used a cozy jacket as well. It was that chilly! Wearing this top is akin to wearing your favorite comfy sweatshirt. This top paired with my J.Crew scuba skirt takes comfort to a whole new level.
But how do you make these two “sweats-like” items look chic and stylish instead of plain and unpolished? Continue reading →
Happy Monday, my friends! Hope everyone had a good Mother’s Day weekend.
I have a confession to make. There’s been a rekindling of sorts in my life. I’ve fallen back in love with Banana Republic. BR used to be my favorite store back, oh I don’t know, about 10 years ago when I was working and just starting to have children. I could always find something at BR that I liked. Slowly, my enthusiasm started to fade as their selections became more and more basic. The combination of BR becoming a haven for basic workplace attire and me deciding to become a SAHM after my third child led me to part ways with BR. I have recently gone back to BR and surprisingly found myself picking up quite a few items from there. I think my last three featured outfits included BR items. I don’t know if it’s the Marissa Webb factor but I feel like the selections are more modern and updated and I’m seeing a little more flair and pizzazz in their pieces. And the prices are still reasonable, especially with all the promotions. What can I say? It’s a win win situation. Continue reading →
Unlike past Easters, I was actually able to wear the outfit that I had planned to wear. I purchased this lilac circle skirt a while back at Nordstrom because I loved the way it fit. I was also intrigued by the color because I had never purchased a skirt in lilac, aka as violet, lavender, mauve, or light purple. Unfortunately, it just didn’t seem to pair well with any of the tops that I had in mind. I tried neutrals like black and white and I also tried to stay within the same hue but it just didn’t seem to work, so I just tucked it away in my closet for another day. Then I spotted the color lilac featured in different magazines and blogs and it was being paired with all sorts of different colors. Continue reading →
