This week’s passage was <a title="Joshua 1:8-9" href="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Joshua+1%3A8-9&version=NIV" target="_blank">Joshua 1:8-9</a>.</p> <p><em><span id="en-NIV-5860" class="text Josh-1-8">Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.</span> <span id="en-NIV-5861" class="text Josh-1-9">Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the<span class="small-caps">Lord</span> your God will be with you wherever you go.</span></em></p> <p>When I read the passage for this week, I felt it was a confirmation and reaffirmation of what God has been teaching me for the past few weeks. I had shared with my BSF group that between their bible study, my church’s bible study and the #SheSharesTruth postings, I have <strong>God’s Word</strong> constantly on my mind. God says to “meditate on it day and night.” When I meditate on God’s Word, I gain <strong>truths that penetrate my heart</strong>, which in turn, influence my actions and thru my actions, I experience His grace.</p> <p>There is good reason for Paul’s urging to the Philippians in chapter 4 v.8, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Whatever is in the <strong>forefront of our mind</strong> is what is going to affect our decision-making in our day to day life. If our mind is consumed with worldly success and achievement, our life will be driven by those goals. If our heart holds anger and resentment, our actions and attitude will reflect that. If, however, we have a mind that is <strong>filled with the Living Word</strong> and a heart that is overflowing with thankfulness, it’s inevitable that we will be able to see God at work all around us and know where and how to walk in His light.</p> <p><a href="http://myrosecoloredshades.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/joshua1_9.jpg?w=650"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-1996 size-large" src="http://myrosecoloredshades.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/joshua1_9.jpg?w=560" alt="Joshua 1:9" width="560" height="560" srcset="https://myrosecoloredshades.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/joshua1_9.jpg 700w, https://myrosecoloredshades.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/joshua1_9-150x150.jpg 150w, https://myrosecoloredshades.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/joshua1_9-300x300.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px" /></a></p> <p>God commands Joshua to be strong and courageous “for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” God’s Word becomes a <strong>shield of truth</strong> that protects us whatever comes our way. This reminds me of Ephesians 6 where Paul describes the <strong>armor of God</strong>. He says, “<span id="en-NIV-29352" class="text Eph-6-14">Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, </span><span id="en-NIV-29353" class="text Eph-6-15">and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.” What more do we need than the Word that gives life, sustains our soul, brings peace to our hearts and <strong>lights our path in righteousness</strong>.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><a title="" href="http://www.bloglovin.com/en/blog/10658125"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="http://www.bloglovin.com/widget/bilder/en/widget.gif?id=10658125" alt="Follow on Bloglovin" width="150" border="0" /></a></p> <p>If you like this post, I would really appreciate it if you could vote for me for Top Mommy Blogs by simply clicking <a title="Top Mommy Blogs" href="http://www.topmommyblogs.com" target="_blank">here</a>.
