I had been looking for a layering piece that was more polished than a cardigan and less structured than a blazer for a while. I couldn’t quite put a name to it but I had a feeling I would know it if I saw it. When I saw this J.Crew sweater jacket, I knew it was what I was looking for. It’s always nice, and sometimes necessary, to layer a cardigan or blazer over a flowy blouse, especially in the fall and winter. Sometimes a cardigan can look dowdy because it doesn’t always hold its shape. On the other hand, a blazer is too constricting, especially if you need to wear it under a coat. The sweater jacket provides the perfect balance of the two. Its thicker knit provides more structure than a cardigan while it allows for more movement than a fitted blazer. The zip and snap front completes the updated modern look. I love how the bright plaid pops against the classic navy of the sweater jacket.

This is great! I totally agree about cardigans not holding their shape well! You have me wanting a sweater jacket now! Cardi-blazers are great, too; shaped like a blazer, but really just a thicker cardigan!
Thanks for sharing this with Manic Monday! Appreciate your participation!
Thanks for the cardi-blazer tip!
Visiting from Three-Fer Thursday Link-up! I love that plaid blouse, the colors are fabulous!
