Navy is so classic. It’s an American classic. It makes me think of the iconic Polo Ralph Lauren ads with models clad in mostly navy, red and white, currently being sported by American Olympic athletes in Sochi. To me, it conjures up a sense of familiarity and stability. It’s a color that you can rely on time and time again.
What’s another American classic in my book? J.Crew. Both the sweater and the skirt are from J.Crew. In addition to the color, I really love the fit and the patch pocket detail of this J.Crew wool skirt. It’s a nice break to be able to wear a weather-appropriate skirt in the middle of this cold streak. I suppose knee-high boots would have provided even more protection but I really wanted to try on my new cognac booties. The Rebecca Minkoff bag was a lucky find along with the boots. I chose to elevate the navy by adding gold touches to the outfit via gold-toned jewelry.
Today’s natural high: Snagging the cognac booties and bag at Nordstrom Rack at bargain prices. I love lucky finds!
