Outfit Highlight: Pretending It’s Spring

Pastels, boyfriend jeans and leopard print heels
I think it’s an understatement when I say we’re all ready for spring. Bloggers everywhere are donning their silk floral tops and pastels in anticipation of its imminent arrival. I won’t even mention our west coast friends who’ve been wearing shorts and sandals on every other blog post as if it’s normal. Well, I guess it is for them. I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little jealous, maybe even a little bitter. You’d think spring was just around the corner. And yet, when I look out my window at the mounds of unmelted snow, there is absolutely no indication that spring is due to arrive anytime soon. I, for one, am not wasting my breath. I’m putting on my rose colored shades and just pretending spring is already here. Don’t judge. This is how I cope.

I’m in love with the pastels this spring season especially the blush trend and all the shades of pastel pink I’ve been seeing like this Gap sweater. I finally found the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans at Express. Thank you Gina and Carylee for making me feel compelled to go try on a pair of Express jeans. I don’t know why I didn’t think to look there to begin with. I tried quite a few pairs before I found these and felt like everything else made me look dowdy. I realized that the “true” baggy boyfriend jeans just don’t look right on me. So I had to go for a more slim fitting boyfriend jeans look. Lastly, one of my recent lucky finds was this pair of calfskin leopard print heels from Cole Haan. I love its classic silhouette.

Today’s natural high: Going rollerskating with the girls and reliving my youth.

  1. Hello Cyntia! Maybe you understand me when I say that I would love to feel the winter! Winter time here means a cold wind after the rain! 🙁

I’m also in love with the pastels. Yes, you have to thank you your friends because you look amazing! Always elegant!

    Kisses,
    Cris.

  2. Eek! First things first, I’m thrilled that you gave Express jeans a try thanks to C & me. 🙂 Maybe I’m a little biased, but they really do look fabulous on you! And I honestly love how you styled them, too…so perfect with the soft, pretty pink sweater and leopard pumps. Love it!! -Gina

  3. You look SO good. I’m so glad you found some boyfriend jeans. They are the best. And seriously. This snow? What are we going to do? I’m about ready to lose it. I’m so tired of my warm clothes I could spit, which is gross… But you know…

  4. I’m so happy!!! Clearly Gina and I are over the moon that you found something that worked for you! They really do look great on you, and to be quite honest, I wouldn’t have even thought they were Express until you mentioned them. The fit suits you perfectly! And I agree with Renata up there that I need to do the blush pink and leopard combo! Hoping spring comes to you quickly!! Thanks so much for sharing with Manic Monday!

  5. Because of this post, I have now bought the sweater and tri necklace. I LOOOOOVE it! And those jeans look amazing on you. My size is sold out. 🙁

  6. True boyfriend jeans look horrific on me! You did good with this pair! Carrylee and Gina are my girls!!! They rock! 🙂 Pretty look & nice to meet you! haha, in blog-land anyways!

  7. You are not the only one feeling jealous of those west coast gals right now – and if pastel sweaters are the best we can do to get a feeling of spring fashion right now, then so be it.

  8. Oh man, I am SO ready for spring! I need to take a cue from you and wear some springy colored sweaters while we wait for the snow and ice to clear up! I love those layered necklaces!

  9. The trio of necklaces are gorgeous, as is the entire outfit. Found your blog via the Trend Spin Linkup.

  10. Hi Cynthia…I’m posting about this sweater and necklace on my Wednesday update and I’d like to include this post in a link and something sweet about you. I finally received my sweater on Saturday. Can’t believe it took that long. Have a lovely day!
