Outfit Highlight: The Easter Dress-to-Be That Never Was

The Easter Dress-to-Be
Every year, a couple of weeks before Easter, I start obsessing about getting THE perfect Easter dress. I’m sure you can all relate but whenever I’m on a mission to find the one, I almost always fail. My acquisitions of some of my favorite dresses have been chance encounters, more happenstance in nature. I always seem to find the one when I’m not really looking. So this year, instead of getting caught up in the hunt for the perfect dress and forgetting what Easter is all about in the process, I decided that I would wear one of the dresses from my existing wardrobe and focus on what’s important. The girls didn’t get new Easter dresses either. I had them choose from their closet as well.

I was so happy to find this J.Crew dress, that I hadn’t worn in a while, all nicely dry cleaned and ready to go. The funny coincidence was that all of us ended up choosing a dress in a dark shade of blue, even my husband (not the dress part 🙂 ). Although I don’t make it a habit to color coordinate my entire family, I thought it turned out to be the perfect ensemble. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be. My second daughter ended up getting sick on Saturday and the two of us stayed home on Easter Sunday while my husband and the other girls jaunted off to church in their matching blue outfits. Oh well, I thought I’d still share with you my Easter dress-to-be that never was.

  1. This look is fantastic! I love the pink and blue together! Hope you daughter is feeling better!

  2. This is my favorie color combination! The pink pops right off of this beautiful blue colored dress! I love what you said about finding things when you aren’t looking for them. That’s the story of my life! Go to the mall searching, find nothing. Go to the mall for no reason, find EVERYTHING! Sorry you didn’t get to wear this beautiful look yesterday but I am sure there is a communion, graduation party, or christening in your future that you can wear this beautiful look to! Have a great week!

  3. Cynthia, what a gorgeous royal purple dress. I absolutely love all the accessories too and hot pink was an awesome second color to pair with this.

Hope you had a Great Easter,

Stop by when you like. Have a Great Monday, Ada. =)

  4. Aw, so sorry that your Easter dress and unintended coordinated family outfits didn’t go off as planned. Hope everyone is feeling better now! Love the beautiful color pairing here though! I have a shirt that color and I think I need to try pairing it with some hot pink accessories too. Thanks for the inspiration!
