Outfit Highlight: Business on Top and Party on the Bottom

IMG_4261prev1
I bought these Anthropologie slouchy cargo pants a couple of months ago but never got a chance to wear them. I figured it would be now or never because the temperatures are dropping quickly, they’re predicting highs in the low 30s next week.

So tell me if I’m reaching but you know that phrase, “Business up front and party in the back,” used by many to describe the mullet? Well, this outfit sort of reminds me of that. Say what? You know, the top part of this outfit is more polished preppy while the bottom is more casual chic fun, hence business up top and party on the bottom. I can totally see myself swapping out the the J.Crew sweater and Schoolboy blazer with a glam sequin top and being ready for a fun girls’ night out. Are you with me? It’s okay if you’re not. Anyway, these silky Aubrey pants are soooo comfy and hang perfectly. I had to order them in petite so they hit above the ankle.

    • Thank you for posting this post to “Bloggers Who Have Inspired Me” link up. I am looking for flats in this color red. No luck yet. Rachel xo *Have a great weekend and enjoy it.

  1. Hello Beautiful Cynthia! Yes! I am with you totally! Adding a sequined top will make you look like a super start and ready to party. Not only do I love the style of the pants but I also love how versatile they are. I really like how you made the look more polished and office appropriate by adding the cute striped top and a nice blazer. Love the color combination and the bag is super cute. You are super stylish and look beautiful. Thanks for sharing. XOXO, Jeannette

  2. Those pants are adorable on you and I am glad you had a chance to wear them before it gets too cold! I love how you paired them with a structured blazer too!

  3. Such a cute, fun look! I am really loving these pants and can totally see them with a sequined top – hope you share it with us if you give it a go. 🙂

  4. I’m so glad you stopped by today and introduced yourself! I love this outfit, every aspect of it stands out but works well together. Great look!

Loved reading your about section too. That’s a lot how I feel about life and I’m raising three girls as well. I can’t wait to read and see more!! Maybe we can work together too.

  5. I love this outfit! Navy is one of my favourites as it’s so much softer than black! I love those trousers, quite unusual and I like how you’ve incorporated red into the look. Love the mixed trends here too. You look great!

  6. This is so good! I love this look so much. It doesn’t work on me, which totally bums me out.

PS – You are in one of my magical lighting spots.
