My hubby and I don’t get to go out much. With three young kids at home, it’s a major production every time we want to get away for a couple of hours on our own. However, we do realize the importance of time alone as a couple so we make it a point to have date nights, especially on our birthdays, our anniversary and Valentine’s Day. Every once in a while, we have the opportunity to get dressed up and go to a special event. I wore this outfit recently to a charity dinner to benefit the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. Enjoying a night out for a good cause is always a must in my book.
I have to admit, I almost regretted buying this dress on final sale at Club Monaco. I was so enamored with the rich blue color and the simple yet eye-catching embellished collar, that I couldn’t resist. At first, I wasn’t sure what to pair it with and I just couldn’t make it work. Then I threw on a cropped BCBG blazer, added a sash and I felt like it was finally coming together. Although appropriate for the occasion, I felt the look was a bit too demure for my taste so I opted for a more trendy pair of pointed-toe heels. So many times I am lured by the final sale price of an item, only to regret the purchase as soon as I get home. I’m glad this one didn’t end up being one of those.

Gorgeous look! Love how the jacket pulls it together, would have liked to see the dress alone too! Great blog.
