This Express LBD is another recent closet find. It’s nice to rediscover items that you haven’t worn in a while but I’m starting to wonder if I have a shopping problem or a memory loss problem. They’re both legitimate possibilities. I love the simplicity of this dress and the fact that you can dress it up or down with different accessories. I’m having a love affair with gold these days so I naturally opted to complement this dress with gold accents.
It’s funny to think that there was a time when silver was my go-to metal and I avoided gold like it was the plague. I used to think that it was out of style and a bit gaudy when done in excess. I don’t know what changed my mind but I’m loving gold these days. I think it adds a touch of luxury to any look. My other favorite, white and gold. Speaking of which, make sure to check out the latest edition of “How I Wear My” over at The Rich Life on a Budget and Everything Just So. This month’s theme is white. My favorite one so far.
I also wanted to send a shout out to Paige for featuring me on her awesome Stylish Tuesday linkup last week!

I feel th same way about good, but there was a good decade or so that I wouldn’t touch it. Shopping your closet is great, and I’m doing the same right now. I definitely don’t need anything.
So chic and simple, and pretty! Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday.
I love the simplicity of your black dress, the flats look fab with it but can imagine it styled with a fab pair of heels too like you mention! A girl can never have too many LBD’s!!

Love that you have been shopping your closet lately and always looking great by the way. Love the simplicity yet girliness of this look. Black paired with gold, adding some leopard is always a great look.
Hope you are enjoying these hot Summer days in Michigan. It will be over before we know it. =(
Have a Great Week! <3 ADA.
I know Ada, it hasn’t felt like summer around here. It’s been in the 70s! Hopefully it will warm up before it cools down for good!
Another classy look Cynthia! You really have such great elegant, polished, effortless style.

I am totally with you on the gold thing. I always wore silver and hated gold but I’m pretty sure I now wear more gold than silver!
This look is so amazing! And I’m gushing over those sandals!
I love everything about this outfit, from head to toe.
And I can relate to the “memory loss problem”. Often I do not remember an item. Or maybe I remember it, but don’t consider it. What I’ve started doing is a regular “closet examination” day. That is I go through a part of my clothing or my shoe box or handbags or … to see what I have and what I can do with it.
Alex – Funky Jungle
Yes, I must do more “closet examinations”. No need to go shopping for new things when I can discover forgotten items in my closet.
Cute dress! I love finding things in my closet that I’ve forgotten about. It’s almost like getting something new. Lol! Cute clutch too. I totally used to hate gold also, but now I love it!

That is a perfect LBD. Love it with the gold too. Such a good luck.
I think I just shot there tonight. Wing Lake School?
Black and gold is just the best. Always chic and elegant. It is funny to think about when I used to dislike gold too. I still wear a lot of silver on my casual days, but I love gold!

I haven’t dug deep in to the bowels of my closet in a while, but I need to. Rediscovering old pieces is the best. Thanks for the reminder. 🙂

Ooo… I love that dress! It’s perfect!
What I love most about fashion and lifestyle blogging is probably seeing how ladies style LBDs, and I love the touches of gold here too. Rachel xo http://garaytreasures.wordpress.com/2014/08/11/my-hubby-thinks-its/

Love the look head to toe. That clutch is lovely.
You are always so cute! I really love how simple this black dress is and how fun it was for you to dress it up with accessories. I need to try layering necklaces more! Oh, and I couldn’t agree with you more… I used to think gold was outdated and I always preferred silver, but now I am always turning to gold pieces! My wedding set is in platinum (silver) and I still prefer that color… but, it never matches any of my gold! lol! Oh well! 😉 Thanks for linking up!
Such a cute, simple look! Love that necklace, you look stunning! xo Andrea
