I’m seeing a lot of neutrals this season and I’m loving it! When it comes to clothing, I’m naturally drawn to whites, grays, taupes and, of course, black. Sometimes a mix of neutrals can appear a little boring and flat but there are ways to add interest to a neutral ensemble. You can play with textures and silhouettes to create dimension and fun and the right set of accessories can always enhance an all neutral look. I got this J.Crew skirt on sale several weeks ago and I absolutely love it! It’s comfy, bouncy and super fun to wear. It holds its shape really well, which makes for an eye-catching silhouette. I paired it with this H&M sweater not only because of its perfect cut and length but also because of the added texture that came from its rib stitching. And the peep toe booties are a fall must-have.
What are your thoughts on neutrals? Are you drawn to them or are bold colors more to your liking?
P.S. I just wanted to thank all of you for the sweet comments you left on my blog anniversary post. I meant every word when I said that all of you out there, who support my blog, are the reason I keep going!

Love your neutrals! Nothing boring about this.
Beautiful mix of neutrals and fab shoes! Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday, xo.
That skirt is so much fun! I am also a big fan of neutrals. Mostly black and greys are to my liking. But I also LOVE prints and colors, but I like to incorporate them with accessories. Keeping my wardrobe mostly neutrals makes it so much easier to put outfits together!
I have to agree, keeping your wardrobe mostly neutrals makes it a lot easier. Thanks for stopping by, Lizz!
You nailed the neutrals with this ensemble Cynthia – the fit & flare skirt is just too cute for words!!!

I love neutrals – especially pastel neutrals. I would wear this look in a second, and the flouncy skirt is so fun!
I love this look Cynthia. I’m jealous that you can wear that skirt. I adore it, but it doesn’t work well with my shape.
Besides the crisp neutral colors, the textures are nice. Just curious about where you are in the photos. The location looks very familiar.
I’m at the West Bloomfield library. Are you from the Metro Detroit area?
No, I’m in the Chicago area. It looked like our university. 🙂
I love a good neutrals outfit. I tend to grab for color, but this outfit makes me want to pull together a neutral outfit from my closet. Lovely!
love the skirt!
Love the flare on your skirt plus the booties are gorgeous. White and grey go so well together.
That J.Crew skirt is a hit! I fall in love every time I see it on someone!! I’m a neutral gal as well.
Thank you Cynthia for linking up today 😉 and for all your support and encouragement (and style inspiration). Rachel xo
I absolutely love a neutral color palette and every time I see one, I swear I am going to try it ASAP. And then I forget. But aside from my own issues, I love this outfit! Especially those peep toe booties! Love the buckle detail at the back of those!

Love the way you styled your grey skirt. It’s such a fresh take on neutrals.
Love the drop hem on the skirt! I’ve slowly been getting into neutrals as the weather cools down. I’m really loving monochromatic white and grey looks!

I wear bright colors all spring and summer, but I bring out my large collection of white, gray, and black come fall. Living in France for two years taught me to embrace neutrals (and repeating fabulous outfits). I LOVE your ensemble, especially the skirt. And did you take a small jump in that last photo? Major kudos to your photographer. That picture is stunning.
I am loving these soft hues for early fall, so pretty! Thanks for sharing with Three-fer Thursday Link Up!

This looks like such a comfy outfit. I love it, and will have to try my hand at it 🙂 btw, love the skirt, should have known it was J.Crew. Half my wardrobe is J.Crew haha

That skirt has the perfect shape, most of my skirts are pencil skirts or have a straight shape and I love how yours has a little bounce. I need to look for something similar to it for my closet! Great neutral outfit and love your boots, too!
That gray ponte trumpet skirt is gorgeous. You always radiate in light neutrals.
Enjoy thus week, Cynthia!
