The hot pink scarf and clutch really liven up this otherwise monochromatic outfit. I’m not a big fan of color coordinating my accessories but this time I just couldn’t resist. The clutch is way too cute to pass up. The scarf not only adds a pop of color but it also gives me a sense of pride. This past Christmas, my 9-year-old decided to use the money she had been saving up to buy gifts for everyone in our family including cousins and grandparents. She carefully chose each gift and really thought about what each person would like to have. Almost all of the gifts were from Five Below, including my pink scarf. I couldn’t be more proud of my eldest daughter.
The sweater is just another addition to my windowpane print obsession. I purchased it from Yesstyle.com and I have to be honest, I was a little apprehensive about ordering from them since I had never really heard of them, the sweater came in one size and it seemed like it would take longer than usual for the item to be delivered. It did take a while for me to receive the item in the mail but I have to say I was very happy with the quality. Despite the one size offering, it surprisingly fit me pretty well. The material is thick but not bulky and feels soft. It was all in all a good purchase. And I absolutely love this Club Monaco skirt. The asymmetrical zip and slit give the skirt that extra edge without revealing too much. The material feels like leather and holds its shape really well.
Today’s natural high: As my own mom did with me, I remind my daughters from time to time, especially around the Christmas season, that it is “more blessed to give than to receive” as it says in the Bible. All I can do is hope and pray that these values will be instilled in my children and influence their actions as they grow older. When you actually get to witness these values manifest themselves in your children, it is truly a blessing.
