My sister-in-law and her family were visiting this past week for spring break. We only get to see each other about once a year since they live in California. So those times that our families get to spend time together are truly special, especially for the girls. Seeing my girls interact so well with their little cousins and hearing their giggles and laughter reminded me once again that life is all about the small simple pleasures. I am always thankful for family, friends and the beauty all around us, which we often take for granted. These are the things that tug at my heart and become treasured memories. So I thought I’d share a few of the things that I am thankful for this week.
My first turned 10 yesterday! I still can’t believe it! The teenage years are fast approaching. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. I’m so thankful and proud that my daughter is growing up to be a beautiful and smart young lady, but more importantly, that she has a kind and loving heart.
It was music to the ears to hear the girls’ laughter as they were playing in the backyard. These are moments to treasure.
It was so nice to see a smile on my niece’s face as she got to dress and name her bear Rose Pink.
My husband and his sisters all attended the University of Michigan at some point in their academic career. It was nice to visit their alma mater with the girls and walk around the campus while enjoying the beautiful weather. Could these be future Michigan students?
I’ve lived in Michigan for almost 20 years now and my husband even longer, but we had never been to the Eastern Market. It was definitely a nice treat to finally be able to experience Detroit’s historic marketplace.

Eastern Market is fun! This reminds me… I should go soon.
I’m definitely going back!
Not much better than family time huh 😉
Family time is priceless. Thanks for stopping by Mia!
Children are always such a joy! 🙂
Yes, they are truly precious.
It looks like you had a pretty amazing week! I was able to spend time with family I don’t get to see very often this past week as well and it really makes everything that much more special! So fun to visit Eastern Market and U of M! That sandwich definitely looks delicious!
