When I think of bold fashion, I automatically think of striking colors, eye-catching prints and patterns, or a mix of all three for a final look that stands out. It’s about going out of your norm, trying something different and new. Similar to fashion, boldness in life requires us to step out of our comfort zone, to not be afraid to be different and go against the flow, even if the choice we make is not necessarily the most popular one. Happy Monday, everyone!

As I was looking through my summer fashion posts, I realized that it’s been a while since I’ve gotten dressed up to go anywhere. I was getting too comfortable in my summer t-shirt and shorts combos. So I decided to dress it up a bit for this post. Why not, right? For one, it’s always a good excuse to make a date night. If you’re all dressed up, you might as well go somewhere. Secondly, I kind of miss looking polished every day and having somewhat intelligent adult conversation. Now that all my girls are in school full time, could I possibly consider going back to work? Not impossible. And last but not least, this past weekend marked this little blog’s 2-year anniversary. So I guess it’s good reason to dress up and celebrate!

Are weekends ever not busy? Mine was busy as usual but thankfully it was mostly fun. The best part was the beautiful sunny weather we had until it was abruptly interrupted by a major thunderstorm, a dramatic finale to a beautiful weekend.

The important thing is that I got to squeeze in this photo shoot because I couldn’t wait for you to see this beautiful bag that was sent to me by Jordana Paige. Outfit Highlight: Lovely in Lilac

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a good Easter.

Unlike past Easters, I was actually able to wear the outfit that I had planned to wear. I purchased this lilac circle skirt a while back at Nordstrom because I loved the way it fit. I was also intrigued by the color because I had never purchased a skirt in lilac, aka as violet, lavender, mauve, or light purple. Unfortunately, it just didn’t seem to pair well with any of the tops that I had in mind. I tried neutrals like black and white and I also tried to stay within the same hue but it just didn’t seem to work, so I just tucked it away in my closet for another day. Then I spotted the color lilac featured in different magazines and blogs and it was being paired with all sorts of different colors. Continue reading →
