Hope everyone had a fun Halloween. How can you not with all that candy, right? The best part is that it wasn’t freezing cold. Temperatures have been surprisingly mild this season and I hear it’s getting up to the low 70s during the week. Yay! Last week I talked about jewel tones being one of my favorite hues for fall. This week I’m talking about another one of my favorite color palettes, earth tones and neutrals. There is something calming, grounding and timeless about these hues. They are appropriate for any season but they seem especially well suited for fall. I know summer is over when my girls and I start gearing up for school. A new school season means new school supplies, new school gear, new clothes and of course, new shoes! We finally reached the high 80s over the weekend. This is what summer is supposed to be like and I am not complaining. The best part of summer is the fact that I get to wear shorts, skirts, as well as skorts, like this one from Zara. I love the gold button detail on this skort. They give a nautical vibe, one of my favorite looks for summer. And I know we love our denim cutoff shorts but what about about a denim cutoff top! After a long week of chauffering my girls back and forth from camps, including sleep away camp 3 hours away, trying to coordinate and work on several projects at the same time and a bout of some kind of stomach bug, I sure was glad to start a new week. I do apologize for being sporadic on visiting/commenting on your blogs, my friends, but I’m sure you can relate when it comes to being crunched for time and needing sleep.

My girls’ last day of school is tomorrow, which means no more rushed mornings, at least for a while. It also means less alone time for me, which may prove to be a challenge when it comes to blogging. I can’t wait for summer camp to start!
