Outfit Highlight: Going Back and Going Bold

Banana Republic black floral midi skirt, Zara cobalt blue top, Jessica Simpson Carmody caged sandals, GUESS Delaney mini tote, bold colors
Happy Monday, my friends! Hope everyone had a good Mother’s Day weekend.

I have a confession to make. There’s been a rekindling of sorts in my life. I’ve fallen back in love with Banana Republic. BR used to be my favorite store back, oh I don’t know, about 10 years ago when I was working and just starting to have children. I could always find something at BR that I liked. Slowly, my enthusiasm started to fade as their selections became more and more basic. The combination of BR becoming a haven for basic workplace attire and me deciding to become a SAHM after my third child led me to part ways with BR. I have recently gone back to BR and surprisingly found myself picking up quite a few items from there. I think my last three featured outfits included BR items. I don’t know if it’s the Marissa Webb factor but I feel like the selections are more modern and updated and I’m seeing a little more flair and pizzazz in their pieces. And the prices are still reasonable, especially with all the promotions. What can I say? It’s a win win situation. Continue reading

Outfit Highlight: Romper Dilemma + Exciting News!

Banana Republic romper, Target Merona backpack, Guess Jily caged sandal, Madewell knotshine necklace, spring trends, all black look, Redbook Real Women Style Awards

Happy Monday, my friends!

I think the warm temperatures are finally here to stay. Yay! And for that reason, I finally got to wear my romper. So this was a tough decision, ladies. I couldn’t decide between two rompers for the longest time. When both Rachelle and Charnele mentioned this romper on their posts, I knew I had to pay Loft a visit to try it on. Tried it on. Loved it. Bought it. Then I found this Banana Republic romper and also fell in love. I must have tried each one of them more than a half a dozen times. Continue reading

Outfit Highlight: The Stripe Dress + Shoe and Tell Link Up

Eliza J stripe dress, black and white stripes, orange, Banana Republic Envelope crossbody, strap sandal, spring trends

Happy Monday, my friends!

For once, I can honestly say that I’m glad it’s Monday. I can finally get some peace and quiet. This past weekend was nothing short of exhausting. It started with my middle one throwing up all over the floor at gymnastics, which fortunately turned out to be a 24-hour bug, but unfortunately we did not escape it unscathed. My poor husband caught the bug. We celebrated two birthdays over the weekend, including my oldest daughter’s, which involved chaperoning a bunch of tweens at Dave and Buster’s. Need I say more?! I didn’t think I would have an outfit post today with my husband being sick but he was nice enough to offer to take pictures anyway.

So I’m keeping this one brief. I’m featuring three of my favorite things in today’s look: stripes, black and white and pops of color. Continue reading

Outfit Highlight: How to Wear a Skirt Set

Banana Republic skirt set, Forever 21 pink moto jacket, pastels, spring colors, spring trends, mint

Happy Monday, my friends!

We finally reached temps in the 70s a couple of days ago and I feel alive again! And of course I had to take advantage of the weather and squeeze in a photo shoot. So I’ve never been a huge fan of matching sets whether they’d be pant suits, skirt suits or a skirt set. Depending on the silhouette and style, they can look a little too matchy matchy or a bit like a uniform. I’ve been seeing a surge of skirt sets lately in all shapes and styles and I don’t know if it’s because of the variety of prints, textures or silhouettes, but I find myself paying more attention to them as I have with this Banana Republic skirt set. I love the silhouette of this skirt set and the comfort factor sealed the deal. If you’ve been following me, you know comfort is high on my priority list. Continue reading

Outfit Highlight: Spring Casual

J.Crew geometric eyelet top, white jeans, Forever 21 rose gold loafers, Sole Society Bentley crossbody, spring colors, Kushyfoot, low cut foot covers

Hope your week is off to a good start. I wish I could say the same about my photo shoot yesterday. Have you ever had one of those days where the elements just didn’t seem to be working with you? Well, I had such a day yesterday where everything from the wind to the sun just refused to cooperate. I don’t even know how I was able to come up with a few decent photos to share with you.

I’m obsessed with these Forever 21 loafers. Continue reading

Outfit Highlight: Lovely in Lilac

Club Monaco Blouse, Search for Sanity midi skirt, lilac, lavender, spring colors, Easter outfit, statement necklace, cobalt blue, bow pumps
Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a good Easter.

Unlike past Easters, I was actually able to wear the outfit that I had planned to wear. I purchased this lilac circle skirt a while back at Nordstrom because I loved the way it fit. I was also intrigued by the color because I had never purchased a skirt in lilac, aka as violet, lavender, mauve, or light purple. Unfortunately, it just didn’t seem to pair well with any of the tops that I had in mind. I tried neutrals like black and white and I also tried to stay within the same hue but it just didn’t seem to work, so I just tucked it away in my closet for another day. Then I spotted the color lilac featured in different magazines and blogs and it was being paired with all sorts of different colors. Continue reading
