Outfit Highlight: Summer Ease

Banana Republic pocket tee, Lauren Conrad scallop-hem shorts, cream crossbody, Seychelles gladiator sandal, tropical print, print shorts, stripes, summer casual fashion, layered necklace

Happy Tuesday, my friends!

I meant to post this yesterday but after a long drive back from Chicago, all I wanted to do was fall facedown on my comfy bed. We had great weather while in Chicago and I’m so glad all I had to pack were tees and shorts and not worry about the weather turning chilly.

I actually wore this outfit on our way to Chicago. To me, summer is all about casual, easy, fuss-free fashion and I think this outfit is the perfect example. There is an element of ease about the summer that I love. Continue reading

Weekly Wisdom: Life is Short, Live for Eternity

lifeishort_liveforeternity

I have been so hungry lately. Hungry for the word of God, that is. Psalm 119:103 comes to mind, “How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” God has been revealing so many truths to me in a way that I can understand, I feel the need to share some of the things that He has been impressing upon my heart. I shared on my IG feed how the popular Sunday school song, I Keep Falling in Love with Him, holds true for me now more than ever. The more I feed on His Word, the more I fall in love with Him. Outfit Highlight: Gold Buttons and Macarons

nautical, Zara, white skort, denim cutoff top, Banana Republic wedge sandals, macarons, Macaron Cafe

Happy Monday, my friends!

We finally reached the high 80s over the weekend. This is what summer is supposed to be like and I am not complaining. The best part of summer is the fact that I get to wear shorts, skirts, as well as skorts, like this one from Zara. I love the gold button detail on this skort. They give a nautical vibe, one of my favorite looks for summer. And I know we love our denim cutoff shorts but what about about a denim cutoff top! The frayed edges on this Zara top adds a relaxed casual feel to this boxy denim shirt. I could seriously wear this outfit every day. Continue reading

Outfit Highlight: Jeans and Tee

summer uniform, summer fashion, casual, white jeans, studded heels, pink tee, leopard clutch

Happy Monday, friends!

I’m keeping it simple both in my post and outfit today. My daughter made her debut in a musical with a local theater group and I got to be a stage mom for the weekend. It was tiring, to say the least, but just the fact that my daughter had the best time being part of the ensemble makes me happy and all worth it.

White jeans and a tee has been my go-to summer uniform. This look has been on repeat for a while now with slight variations via the accessories. I don’t typically mix black with pale pastel colors but I think that in this case the black accessories anchor the look. I love this relaxed tee from J.Crew with the silky sleeves and back. It feels great against the skin and the boxy cut is perfect for summer. Continue reading

Weekend Wish List: Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2015

shopping list, wish list, sales, Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

TGIF, my friends!

Ok, who’s not excited about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? No one! If you haven’t purchased a few items already, I know you have at least started browsing thru the plethora of goodies at amazingly reduced prices. I, for one, haven’t had the time to stop by a store, but that hasn’t stopped me from doing a little shopping online and adding a few items to my shopping cart. I will definitely have to comb thru the selections more carefully but I wanted to share my initial list. See my comments below each item to find out why these are my favorites so far. Weekly Wisdom: Giving God the First Fruits

God, Jesus Christ, Bible, Scripture, first fruits, Hannah, words of wisdom, truth

You know how they say that children learn by repetition? Well, I think God has been using that method with me lately in order to press upon my heart the importance of giving Him the first fruits not only every morning but in everything I do. I had been reminded gently of this truth thru a couple of blog posts that I read recently. It obviously didn’t get thru to me the first time so God reminded me again thru a sermon I listened to while driving 3 hours to pick up my daughter from sleep away camp, and then again thru the Women in the Word series at She Reads Truth when I read about Hannah. But what does it mean to give God the first fruits? I don’t think it’s my place, nor is it my intent to delve into the theological meaning of the first fruits as referred to in the Old as well as the New Testaments, but I’d like to share some of the spiritual meanings that God has been conveying to me lately. Continue reading

Outfit Highlight: Summer Naturals

summer fashion, natural fibers, cotton, Anthropologie pintuck button down, Club Monaco scallop hem shorts, All-Star Converse shoreline sneakers, straw hat, straw tote

Happy Monday, my friends!

Hope your 4th of July weekend was filled with family fun and yummy food. Mine was pretty laid back. After a busy week, all I wanted to do was take it easy and just chill with my family. I think that’s what summertime is all about.

I think that natural carefree attitude translates into summer fashion as well. When it comes to summer, I almost always opt for natural fibers like cotton, linen, canvas, straw, etc. Continue reading

Outfit Highlight: Casual With a Touch of Glam

summer fashion, casual glam, classic white shirt, Banana Republic white button down shirt, print shorts, Anthropologie chevron print shorts, Happiness Boutique, layered necklace, Express clutch, date night outfit

Happy Monday, my friends!

After a long week of chauffering my girls back and forth from camps, including sleep away camp 3 hours away, trying to coordinate and work on several projects at the same time and a bout of some kind of stomach bug, I sure was glad to start a new week. I do apologize for being sporadic on visiting/commenting on your blogs, my friends, but I’m sure you can relate when it comes to being crunched for time and needing sleep.

There was one thing that immediately put a smile on my face this past week. Continue reading
