Winter is not over yet but I am so ready to do my favorite winter trends roundup. I have to say, winter is not an easy season for bloggers, especially those of us who live in colder climates. Taking photos outdoors in freezing weather is not my idea of fun and neither my husband’s, my reluctant photographer. So major props to all you ladies who braved thru the frigid temperatures to inspire the rest of us with your amazing outfits.

For this season, I thought I’d do a roundup of my favorite winter essentials. We can’t live without layering, coats, boots, cardigans and scarves in the winter. It was so much fun to see how you ladies styled these basic winter staples and took them to another level. Again, it was super hard to narrow all my favorites down to the few below.

Outfit Highlight: The Cocoon Coat

Happy Monday, my friends!

Having a sick kid right before a family vacation is a little disconcerting but, thankfully, it looks like she’s on the mend and ready for our trip to Disney World. In between getting Valentine’s Day treats ready for school and packing, I had a chance to sneak out for a photo shoot and amazingly, the weather has been my best friend lately, warming up for me on the weekends.

Despite the fact that I have all the winter jackets and coats that I need, I’ve been wanting a cocoon coat for a while. Perhaps it’s the oversized slouchy fit, but there’s something about cocoon coats that exudes a cool, laid back vibe without being sloppy. And because they’re oversized, it’s great for layering. Favorite Fall Trends Roundup

Fall is coming to an end and winter is fast approaching, which means it’s time for my fall trends roundup! This is becoming one of my favorite posts to work on because I get to showcase my favorite trends of the season and my favorite bloggers sporting those trends. I have to say though, it’s not an easy task, especially because there are so many bloggers and outfits that I’d like to feature. It’s hard to narrow them down to just a handful. Well, I guess there is always next time.

How can I not talk about the blanket scarf? It’s like not talking about the elephant in the room. Everyone and their cousin owns a plaid blanket scarf, especially the one I’m wearing above. It’s the Zara scarf turned Target, Forever 21, ASOS, etc, etc, etc…scarf. But how can you blame us? It’s just one of those must-have items. I was glad to see blanket scarves in different colors and patterns as well. I love Bethany’s dark plaid scarf against her bright cobalt blue sweater. Tatiana’s houndstooth scarf is so classy and I fell head over heels for Mahshid’s grid print scarf. Continue reading →

From Country Chic to City Sleek
I had the honor of doing a guest post this past summer for Alison from Get Your Pretty On where I took an eyelet top from country chic to city sleek. It was a fun concept to work with so I thought I’d give it another whirl with this super versatile Anthropologie painted plaid dress. I have no shame when it comes to this dress. I fell in love with this dress the minute I lay my eyes on it but, as always, I could not bring myself to purchase it at full price. I stalked it as if my life depended on it. When Anthropologie had a sale, I totally pounced on it and I’m glad I did because I snagged one of the last ones left at my local store.  Continue reading →
